And that all my lawful debts shall be paid with the funeral charges and of my estate by my executors hereafter named. I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Eva Boeckel my bed amd bedstand, two cows and one Heifer and two sheep, and she my take two or three swines. She shall keep all the winter wheat is left and the meat, and all such vegtables and what she had of her ?, further she shall keep together with the Dresser in the kitchen and fifty bushels of wheat and six bushels of sugar, and the reminder shall be divided among my two children in equal shares, namely my son John and my youngest son Anthony Boeckel-have all the ? shall be for my wife. My will is that what I have not before bequeath to my wife that shall be sold at public virtur then to be divided among my wife and children in equal shares. I nominate and appoint my honorable friend Gabriel Reuber? as my executor for my wife and children in virtue whereas I have set my hand and seal this 31st day of January 1782 in the presence of witnesses. John Moyer and Joseph ?, Signed Johanne Boeckel and seal (this was translated from the German original) Registors office at Reading in Berks county the 19th day of March 1782, then appeared Werner Stam? and on his oath and Henry Spath on his solmon affirmation did declare that they have carefully appraised the good in this inventory to the best of their understanding, signed Henry Christ-County Register Humbly Servent; That your petitioners said husband left two childrne to wit. John and Anthony both of whom are monrs under fourteen years of age and have no guardians to take care of their persons and estate. Your petitioner therfor humbly prays your honors to appoint some proper person or persons as guardian of the said children for the purpose aforsaid., and she will pray. signed Eve Bickel, Reading Aug 14, 1787 Petition of Guardian of John and Anthony Bickel, minors August 14, 1787, Present was Henry Christ, John Ludwig, John Gullin, and the court appointed Jacob Gehrhard Guardian for the within minors. Additional Comments: Surname changed to Bickel and Beckel. John is son of Tobias Boeckel who died Sept 29, 1791 and left a will in Berks Co. PA., in this will Tobias mentions the heirs of my son John Bickel, deceased. John Bickel died Sept 1, 1782 and is buried in Corner Cem., Robesonia, PA., wife was Maria Eva Batteicher or Batteiger.
