All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Barbara Mihalcik christielisabeth@yahoo.com August 12, 2009, 10:51 pm Source: Berks County Courthouse Written: August 19, 1851 Will of George Focht 1857 Windsor Township Berks County Pennsylvania In the Name of God Amen I the undersigned George Focht in Windsor Township Berks County and State of Pennsylvania As I find myself not in good health but considering that all men must die and that the time is uncertain when the voice of our Creator calls us from this world Make and declare herewith this present because I am yet in good understanding memory and Judgement to my last will and testament to wit, First All my just debts if any and funeral Expences be duly paid as soon as it can be done after my death Further As soon as possible after my death an Inventory shall be taken from my personal property household furniture and outstanding debts Further My beloved wife Maria shall have of my house and kitchen furniture which she wants and my hereafter named Executors shall Yearly pay to my wife Mariah as much of the Interest of the outstanding money as she has need Further I give and bequeath to my two sons Jeremiah and David Focht my Plantation on which I at present do live situate part in Windsor and part in Perry townships Berks County adjoining on Land of Samuel Shappell, Jeremiah Shappell, Isaac Miller, Jesse Mengel, Jacob Focht, Joseph Mengel, Jacob Heinly, Michael and Samuel Schmidt containing one Hundred and ten acres more or less with thereon the buildings with the appurtenances with one piece of land situate in Windsor township adjoining on land of Jacob Narragang, Jacob Bausher and on the public street containing nine acres and a half more or less my two sons Jeremiah and David shall have the aforesaid plantation for their Legacy out of my Estate. But they shall not sell the said plantation as long as my wife Maria is living Except she is satisfied and my wife shall have her Seat on the aforesaid plantation and right in the house, Kitchen, Cellar, and Springhouse as those that Posession thereof of said Plantation and the half of the Garden as long she is living and shall have for ?ansbehald? (or reserve) from the aforesaid Plantation Yearly 9 Bushels of wheat 9 Bushel of Rye 9 Bushels of Buckwheat 25 Bushels of Indian corn and 9 Bushels of Potatoes and the grain to be taken to the mill as she is in need and the meal brand and choped grain back to her dwelling and the fire wood cut and hauled and to be cut small for use as much she needs and all those articles must be delivered in due time to my wife Maria from the aforesaid Plantation If my wife Maria desires to have one cow three hogs which she may choose after my death and the occupier of the aforesaid Plantation shall feed her cow and give her pasture and my two sons Jeremiah and David shall be bound to take care of my wife and for all she be in need Further Shall my remaining six children to wit, Hannah Intermarried with Henry Adam, Daniel, Lydia Intermarried with Samuel Baver, George, Maria Intermarried with Joseph Baver, and Elizabeth have in money after my death to that which they have already received in my life time till each of them have received fifteen hundred dollars However, my daughter Elizabeth shall not have her share until she is Twenty two Years old Further, Shall my hereafter named Executors as soon as it is suitable after my death my personal property of which my wife have no use shall be sold at public vendue and the proceed arising therefrom and the remaining money be put on Interest as long my wife is living and after her death my Executors shall sell at public Vendue all the personal property which my wife had in her possession her life time and the proceeds arising therefrom with my remaining money and the Interest shal be divided after the death of my wife Maria to the aforesaid Six children to wit, Hannah intermarried with Henry Adam Daniel Lydia intermarried with Samuel Baver George Maria intermarried with Joseph Baver and Elizabeth in Six equal Shares the Grain in the Ground, Manure, Hay and Straw shall not be sold it shall remain for the land And Lastly I appoint herewith my son Jeremiah and my son in law Joseph Baver to Executors to this my last will and testament and I declare once more this instrument of writing containing on one sheet of paper which I have undersigned with my own hand and seal to this my last will and testament this nineteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one (1851) George Focht [written by him] Subscribed and Sealed and declared as the last will and testament by the above Subscriber George Focht in presence of us Samuel Hoffman Benjamin Schaeffer This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 5.1 Kb
