All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Barbara Mihalcik christielisabeth@yahoo.com August 17, 2009, 1:00 am Source: Berks County Courthouse Written: September 10, 1801 Will of Peter Fogt 1801 Windsor Township Berks County Pennsylvania In the Name of the Holy Trinity, God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen I Peter Fogt of Windsor Township Berks County State of Pennsylvania, am weak and sick as to Body, but yet of sound understanding and Memory, thanks be to God therefor who calls to my Mind the Mortality of my Body and know that it is Ordered for all Men Once to Die, make and order this my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul in the hands of Allmighty God who gave it, and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Decent Christian Burial, at the Discression of my Executors not Doubting but that I shall receive the same, at the General Resurrcition through the mighty Power of God, and touching such wordly Estate where with it hath Pleased God to bless me with in this Life I Give and Devise the same in the following manner and form ~ First I Give and Devise unto my wife Margareda, the Bed and one Cow the Choice of her two, as long as she lives 15 Bushels Rye yearly sound and Clean Grain, 10 Bushels Buckwheat, Six Bushels Indian Corn, and the Grain they shall take to Mill for her, and the Meal, Bran, and Shorts, they shall deliver into her dwelling and that when she will have it, the dwelling which we now have in Possession, and the Stove which is in the Dwelling as long as she lives and Retains my Name, three Bushels wheat yearly they shall give unto her, 150 # Pork, they shall give to her and 50 # Beef yearly, as long as she lives, ½ Pound Pepper, ½ Pound Allspice, ¼ flax Land, the Choice in the Piece, at one End a Quarter Potatoes Land, and Dung and Plough the Land in due time when she will have it done as long as she lives and Retains my Name, they shall give unto her yearly one half waggon Load of hay, and one half wagon Load sewn and crop, and that they shall cut, dry, and hawl in her Stable, as long as she lives, Fire wood they shall hawl to her dwelling, and cut it small, and carry it into her dwelling, One half bushel coarse salt, and one half bushel fine Salt, yearly, but if she does not raise her Swine, then she Receives the Meat, and only three Bushels Buckwheat, Shoes as many as she may want yearly and yearly four Pound Wool, they shall give unto her yearly three Pound in Money, and as much of the Kitchen furniture as she may want for her own use, as long as she lives, they shall give unto her yearly one Barrel of Cyder as long as she lives, apples as many as she wants for her own use, five Gallons of Whiskey yearly and that part of the Garden, which she has in use. Secondly I order that my two Sons [to wit] George and John shall have my Plantation in Equal shares, for nine hundred Pound good Gold and Silver money Currant in Pennsylvania Thirdly I order that the nine hundred Pound shall be divided to my remaining Children, John George, Frederick, John Jacob Peter Magdalena to the remaining Children of Elizabeth in Equal Shares Catharina and Christina and Maria in Equal Shares. Fourthly I order that Marias Legacy shall remain in the hands of the Executors untill she shall want it for her Support, but should she bear Children, it shall be Divided among her Children in Equal Shares, if she shall not want it for her Support, fifthly I order that the House Clock shall stand untill after the Death of my wife Margaretha Sixthly I order that my remaining Sons shall receive each fifteen Pounds first and foremost, and the Remainder shall be shared in Equal Shares unto my Remaining Children, for this my last Will and Testament I order my Son George as sole Executor, and I Ratify this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament, In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Tenth Day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and One ~ Signed, sealed, spoken, and Declared Peter Fogt through the aforesaid Peter Fogt as and for his Last Will and Testament in our Presence, who have at his request and in the Presence of each other signed our names Peter Will Peter Bausher Translation Will of Peter Fogt dec This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 4.6 Kb
