He is buried in St John's Gibraltar Cemetery in Robeson Twp. In 1818 his property was divided, but not all the papers were in the file at the Register of Wills office. The following is information showing part of the division of his property. Petition to court: To the honorable the judges of the Orphans Court of the County of Berks, held at Reading in and for the said County on the 12th day of December A D 1818. The Petition of John FREESE, oldest son and heir at law of John FREESE, late of Robeson in the county aforesaid, yeoman, deceased, HUMBLY SHOWETH: That your petitioner's said father died intestate on or about the twentieth of July AD, 1815, leaving a widow named Eve, and issue eight (8) children, to wit: your petitioner, Mary, intermarried with Abrm. HOMAN, Samuel, Catharine, intermarried with Jacob MOURER/MAURER; Michael, George, Eve, Hannah, the three last named of whom are yet in their minority; and that the said intestate died seized in his desmesne as of fee of and in a certain messuage, plantation, and tract of land situate in the township and county aforesaid, bounded by lands of Casper MOYER, Christian DONNAHOUR, John HOMAN and others, containing one hundred and seventy-seven (171) acres, also of and in another messuage, plantation and tract of land situate in the township aforesaid, bounded by lands of Fred'k FUHRMAN, Wm DICKINSON, and others, containing about 50 acres, also of and in another piece of land adjoining the last described tract of land containing about 14 acres. Also, of another piece of tract of land adjoining the last described tract, and containing about 12 acres, with their respective appurtenances. Your petitioner therefore prays your honor to award an inquest, to make partition of the premises apre?, to and among the children and representatives, of the said Intestate, in such manner and in such proportions as by the laws if this Commonwealth is directed, if such partition can be made without prejudice to or spoiling the whole, but if such partition cannot be made thereof as aforedsaid, then to value and appraise the same. And further, to enquire and ascertain whether the said real estate with the appurtenances will conveniently accommodate more than one of the children of the said Intestate, and if so, how many of the said children it will conveniently accommodate - and make report of their proceedings to the next general Orphan's Court. Purport #2. In the inquisition, adjudged to John FREES and value at the sum of twelve hundred and seventy five dollars. This amount was divided as shown below total value to adjudged to son John:---- 1275 to wit: ----------widow thirds------------425 ---------------------------------- bal 850, divided by 8 = 126.85 per child. after widow's death each child -----------53.12 1/2 John FREESE Mary married to Abm.
