I Jacob Humel being of good Understanding have made my Testamentary Will. That my Eldest Son Jacob Humel shall have my Land or Plantation for his own, in the … John Humel eighteen Pounds, and so his younger … Frederick Humel eighteen Pounds, and to his Sister Catharina eighteen Pounds, and to his other five Brothers and Sister each twelve Pounds, every one according to their Age, every Year one, when he enters on the Land. There shall remain on the Plantation the white Horse and the Colt and the Waggon and the Plough and the Harrow and the Gears of two Horses and an Ax and a … and the Bible and the Gun. And the … and five Bushels of Wheat, Twenty Shillings in Money half the large Garden, and he shall cultivate her Part as his own Part, four Pounds of good Wool, twenty five Apple Trees of the uppermost Row, and if it contain not that Number then he must add thereto out of the other Row ‘till she has her number; and he must keep a Cow for her and she shall every … have her Choice of his Stable to take one and hold … on the Place above half a Year, and my Son Jacob shall have the Mare for his Use when the Mother does not use her and he must fodder her as his Horses. Jacob Humel Andreas Frey as Witness Johann Marttin humel also Know all Men by these Presents that We Eva Maria Humel Widow and Relict of Jacob Humel late of the Township of Windsor in the County of Berks in the Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman deceased John Martin Humel and Michael Lescher both of the Township of Greenwich in the County of Berks and Province aforesaid Yeomen ~~~~~ Are held and freely bound unto Benjamin Chew Esquire Register General for the Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for the Province of Pennsylvania etc in the Sum of three hundred Pounds of lawful money of Pennsylvania to be paid to the said Benjamin Chew Register General his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns To which Payment well and truly to be made We do bind Ourselves our Heirs Executors Administrators and every of them jointly and severally for and in the whole firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals Dated the twenty second Day of October ---- in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Seventy three ~ Whereas the above named Jacob Humel did on twelfth Day of September In the present year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy three rightfully and duly make his Last Will and Testament in Writing under his Hand and did publish the same before Witnesses whose Names are thereto subscribd but did not nominate any Executor or Executrix thereof and the said Testator is since deceased (as is alledged – Which said Last Will and Testament was this Day --- duly proved in the Register General’s Office at Reading in the County of Berks aforesaid – And Whereas Administration (with the Will annexed) is granted unto the said Eva Maria Humel the Widow and Relict of the said Decedent Now the Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Eva Maria Humel Administratrix (with the Will annexed) of all and Singular the Goods and Chattels Rights and Credits which were of the above named Jacob Humel ----- deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the goods chattels Rights and Credits which were of the Deceased within the said Province etc which have or shall come to the Hands Possession or Knowledge of the said Eva Maria Humel ---- or into the Hands Possession or Knowledge of any other Person or Persons for her – and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be Exhibited into the Register Generals Office at Reading in the County of Berks at or before the twenty second Day of November --- next and the same Goods and Chattels Rights and Credits which were of the said Deceased at the Time of his Death or which at any Time heretofore have come or hereafter shall come to the Hands Possession or Knowledge of the said Eva Maria Humel --- or into the Hands Possession or Knowledge of any other Person or Persons for her --- do and well and truly administer according to Law And further to make or cause to be made a true and just Account Calculation or Reckoning of the said Administration at or before the twenty second Day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and seventy four And all the Rest and Residue of the said goods and Chattels Rights and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the said Administrat Account, the same being first examined and allowed by the Orphan’s Court of the County of Berks shall deliver and pay to such Person or Persons as the said Court by it’s Decree or Sentence shall limit and appoint And if it shall hereafter appear that any other Last Will and Testament hereinbefore recited was made by the said Deceased and the Executor or Executors herein named do exhibit the same into the said Office making Request to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said Eva Maria Humel being therunto required do deliver up the said Letters of Administration (with the Will annexed) Approbation of such Testament being first had and made in the said Office Then this Obligation to be void and of non Effect or Else to be and remain in full Force and Virtue.
