First I recommend my soul to the great and merciful God who gave me the same and my body to be buried in the earth in a Christian like manner, my temporal Estate I give and bequeath in manner following after all my just debts are paid out of the same by my Executors who shall be named hereafter. Secondly I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Mohn my whole place together with all the land which contains one hundred and seventy acres of land together with all the buildings to be found on the same and whatever they contain that is fastened in the wall with nails or otherwise it being the same and upon which I at the time of writing this will did live situate in Brecknock Township Berks County bounded upon one side by lands of old Hornberger and on the other side by land of Nicholas Harthung as also two mares together with all the geers belonging to said two mares as also my waggon and whatever belongs to the same as also plough and harrow and whatever belongs to the same in manner following. That my said son Daniel Mohn shall give to me Ludwig Mohn his father and to his mother Ottilia yearly from year to year during the natural life of each of us out of my place the third part of all that grows upon it and shall be planted during the natural life of us both. But when I shall have left this temporal state and am buried that my beloved wife Ottilia Mohn as long as she shall live after my decease shall only have the one half of the above mentioned third part out of the land aforesaid from year to year and the third part of all the buildings shall hereby bequeathed to her as her widow seat to inhabit the same and to live upon said place at will as she did during my lifetime and the above mentioned ______ of the third part of whatever may grow or be planted on said place shall be for her maintenance during her natural life also he who shall possess the place after my decease shall give a horse to my said wife whenever she shall have occasion for one or wish to go to meeting. Also he who shall possess the place shall deliver before the door of my wife Ottilia Mohn good dry fire wood cut small as she my have occasion to make use of it. Also he who shall possess the place shall wait upon and nurse my said wife whenever she my be sick or something also happen to her to make it necessary that she should be waited upon and nursed. She shall also have the third part of my movable estate also my bed bedstead and curtains. Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my eldest son John Mohn in addition to that which he has received of me in my lifetime the sum of two hundred pounds in bonds dated the 20th day of May 1786. The first payable the first day of May 1800 The other bond dated the 20th day of May 1786 payable on the first day of May 1801. The third dated the 20th of May 1786 payable the first of May 1803. Each bond conditioned for the sum of fifty pounds and this shall be his whole share. Further I give and bequeath to my son Ludwig Mohn in addition to what he has received of me in my lifetime a bond which his brother John Mohn owes to me dated the 20th day of May 1786 and payable the first day of May 1795 for the sum of fifty pounds and this shall be his whole share. Further I bequeath to my son Henry Mohn in addition ____ a bond of Johns dated 20th May 1786 payable 1st of May 1796 for £50. This to be his whole share. Further I bequeath to my daughter Susanna in addition and _____ a bond of Johns dated 20th May 1786 Payable 1st May 1797 for £50. This to be her whole share. Further I bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth in addition and ______ a bond of Johns dated as above payable 1st May 1798 for £50. This to be her whole share. Further I bequeath to my daughter Margaret in addition and ________ a bond of Johns dated as above payable 1st May 1797 for £50. This to be her whole share. Respecting the share of my son Peter Mohn he has received the same fully and has nothing more to receive than that which after my death shall of right belong to him out of my household goods which after my death shall be equally divided amongst all my children that is to say the personal estate which shall be remaining after my decease. I hereby appoint and ordain my eldest son John Mohn and my son Ludwig Mohn to be my Executors of this my Last Will according to Law and that after my decease they shall give to my son a deed for the place which I herein bequeathed to Daniel Mohn as good as if I myself was alive and I declare and acknowledge this to be my Will and Testament and no others. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this the 26th day of February 1791. Ludwig Mohn Sealed acknowledged and signed in presence of us who were called as witnesses. A literal translation by Jno. Spayd John (Johannes) Hayll Balzer (Baltazar) Fritz Registers office Reading in Berks County February 2nd in 1796. Then personally appeared John Hayll and Baltzer Fritz witnesses to the afore written will and on their oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God did severally depose and say that they were present together and did see and hear Ludwig Mohn the Testator therein named request Daniel Mohn his son to write his name to said Will and pronounce, publish and declare the same writing to be his Last Will and Testament and that at the time the doing thereof he the said Testator was of sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and or they vereily believe and further that the named John Hayll and Balzer (Baltazar) Fritz hereto suscribed are of the proper hand writing of the said deponants respectively by them thereto subscribed as witnesses in the presence of each other at the request and in the presence of the said Testator.
