HARE - The two Hares, of Altoona, form one of the most successful law firms in Blair County. Robert F. Hare, the junior member of the firm, in practice but a few years is advancing rapidly under the tutelage of his father, the prominent Thomas C. Hare, whose biography precedes and who is among Altoona's leading lawyers. Robert F. Hare, a World War veteran, is popular in the young set of Altoona, is well known and active in club and fraternal affairs and highly esteemed in the Mountain City. Robert F. Hare was born in Altoona, February 21, 1897, his mother being Fannie (Kurtz) Hare. The Altoona schools, both grade and high, gave him his early education, and Harvard University and Lafayette colleges gave him his legal and higher academic education. He was graduated from Lafayette College with the degree of Bachelor of Philosophy and from Harvard School of Law in 1922 with the degree of Bachelor of Laws. In the fall of 1922 Mr. Hare was admitted to the bar of Blair County and, having associated himself with his father, he has been in practice since then. The Hares maintain their offices at No. 223 Central Trust Building, Altoona, and their practice as a firm extends throughout Blair County. Robert F. Hare served in the Medical Corps of the United States Army from 1918 to 1919, holding the rank of sergeant. Politically he is Independent. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity of Lafayette College, the Blairmont Country Club and the Altoona Cricket Club. He and his family attend the First Lutheran Church of Altoona. Mr. Hare married Blanda Crooks in Clarion, Pennsylvania, June 4, 1923. They reside at No. 2708 Union Avenue, Altoona.
