HARE - One of the leading lawyers of Altoona is Thomas C. Hare, a veteran of the bar of Blair County. Mr. Hare is a prominent citizen of Altoona and he is active in all civic and fraternal affairs of the city. He is acknowledged one of the most able and adroit attorneys of the city. Thomas C. Hare was born in Yellow Springs, January 14, 1876, and he received his early schooling in the grade schools of Altoona. He followed the higher academic courses in Susquehanna University, from which he was graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts, and he took his legal studies in the University of Michigan Law School, from which he was graduated in 1892 with the degree of Bachelor of Laws. In the same year he was admitted to the bar in Blair County, and he has been in practice in Altoona, with offices at No. 223 Central Trust Building, ever since. Of recent years his son, Robert F. Hare, has been in association with him in legal practice. Mr. Hare is Independent politically; he is a member of the Altoona Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons, of the Altoona Rotary Club, the Spruce Creek Rod and Gun Club and the Altoona Chamber of Commerce. In his religious views he and his family are Lutherans. Mr. Hare married, in Altoona, in 1894, Louise Kurtz, and of this union there are two children: Eleanor, who was born in 1896, and Robert F., (a biography of whom follows). The Hare family lives at No. 2012 Broad Avenue, in Altoona.
