  REV. EDWARD JAMES HICKEY was born September 13, 1898, in Altoona. where he 
attended St. Mark's School.  He then matriculated at St. Francis College, at 
Loretto, where he graduated with the class of 1925, with his degree of 
Bachelor of Arts.  He was ordained a priest by Rt. Rev. Bishop McCort, and 
was appointed at Altoona.  In 1925 he was appointed secretary to Rt. Rev. 
John J. McCort, Bishop of Altoona, Pennsylvania.  He is a member of the 
council of the Knights of Columbus at Altoona.
