SHEEDY, one of the youngest members of the Blair County Bar Association, was born in the city of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on September 25, 1896. He is one of seven sons born to Dr. J.M. and Marcella M. (Young) Sheedy, both parents being born in the County of Cork, Ireland. After graduating from St. John's Parochial School and from the Altoona High School, Mr. Sheedy then entered the Dickinson School of Law, fro which institution he graduated in 1918 with the degree of Bachelor of Laws. Immediately thereafter he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a seaman during the World War. Upon his discharge from active service he returned to his home in Altoona to begin the practice of his profession. Mr. Sheedy was admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania on March 22, 1920. He is also a member of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Blair County Bar Association, Altoona Chamber of Commerce, Altoona Gymnasium Club, Spruce Creek Rod and Gun Club, Knights of Columbus, Sigma Chi Fraternity, and the American Legion. He is secretary of the American Business Club and is solicitor for the Superior and Liberty Building and Loan associations. Mr. Sheedy is a Roman Catholic in faith, and a member of the congregation of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
