All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Source: Blair County Deed Book F Pages 234-235 Written: May 29, 1855 Recorded: June 14, 1855 Power of Attorney John Stiffler to Paul Mauk Know all men by these presents that I John Stiffler have constituted made and appointed and by these presents do make constitute and appoint Paul Mauk my lawful attorney for me and in my name and stead and to my use to ask demand sue for levy recover and receive all such sums of money, debts, rents goods wares dues accounts and other demands whatsoever which are or shall be due owing payable and belonging to me or detained from me in any manner of ways or means whatsoever I John Stiffler and Catherine my wife do impower [sic] the above named Paul Mauk, especially to sell or rent a certain lot of ground in the town of Claysburg in the County of Blair and state of Pennsylvania with the appurtenances thereunto belonging. Also one lot of woodland containing twenty four acres more or less situate in Greenfield Township County and State aforesaid, also one lot of ground in the Town of Duncansville with appurtenances in the county and state aforesaid also to make Deeds and conveyances and to attend and settle all my matters whatever giving and granting unto my said attorney by these presents my full and entire power and authority in and about the premises to use and take all ways and means in my name for the recovery. Thereof and upon the receipt of any such debts dues or sums of money aforesaid acquaintances or other sufficient discharges for me and in my name to make seal and deliver and generally all and every other act and acts thing and things device and devices in the law whatsoever needful and necessary to be done in and about the premises for me and in my name to do execute and perform as fully largely and amply to all intents and purposes as I might or could do if I were personally present or as if the matter required more special authority then is herein given and attorneys one or more under him for the purpose aforesaid, To make and constitute and then at pleasure to revoke ratifying allowing and holding for firm and specific all and whatsoever my said attorney or his substitute shall lawfully do in and about the premises by virtue hereof. In witness whereof we have hereunto set my [sic] hand and seal the 29th day of May A. D. 1855. This 29th day of May 1855 personally appeared before the the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Blair the above named John Stiffler and Catharine his wife and acknowledged the foregoing Power of Attorney to be their act and deed and desired the same might be recorded as such according to law.
