All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Duncansville, Blair Co Written: June 21, 1858 Recorded: April 6, 1867 Blair County Deed Book T page 118 Deed James Funk & Wife to Abraham Koon This Indenture made the twenty first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight, between James Funk and Susan Jane his wife, of the Township of Allegheny, Blair County, Pennsylvania of the first part and Abraham Koon of the Township, County, and state aforesaid of the second part for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred dollars, lawful money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have Granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed, and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey, and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns all that certain Lot of ground situate in the Town of Duncansville in the said county of Blair lying and being on the south side of the (Turnpike or) Main street and fronting on said street --- feet and extending back at right angles to the Allegheny Portage Rail Road, and bounded on the west by Lot of George Hammers, and on the east by an alley. Being the same lot of ground, the title to which became vested in James Trees, who together with his wife Elizabeth, by deed dated the 30th day of march 1857, conveyed to the said James Funk, party hereto, relation being thereunto had more fully appears. Together with all and singular the buildings, improvements, ways, waters, water courses rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining; and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof; and all the estate, right title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever, of the said parties of the first part in law equity, or otherwise howsoever, of, in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said lot of ground, hereditaments and premises hereby granted, or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said James Funk and Susan Jane his wife, heirs, executors and administrators, do by these presents covenant, grant, and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that they the said party of the first part, their heirs all and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against them the said party of the first part their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals. Dated the day and year first above written. Test: Wm Smith James Funk Reuben Feister Blair County ss The twenty first day of June, Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight, before me, one of the Justices of the Peace in & for the said County, personally appeared the above named James Funk and Susan Jane his wife, and in due form of law, acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed and desired the same might be recorded as such, and the said Susan Jane being of full age and by me examined separate and apart from her said husband by me thereon privately examined and the full contents of the above Deed being by me first made known unto her and did thereupon declare and say that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord sign, seal, and as her act and deed deliver the above Indenture without coercion or compulsion of their said husband.
