C. Miller This Indenture made the Seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven Between Lavinia Kuhn, widow of Samuel Kuhn and Landis Kuhn and Alice S. his wife and Harriet J. Mills and Clarence C. Mills her husband all of the City of Altoona in the County of Blair and state of Pennsylvania, parties of the first part and Dr. C. C. Miller of the same place party of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Seven thousand five hundred dollars lawful money of the United States of America, unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. All that certain lot, piece or parcel of ground situate in the city of Altoona in the County of Blair and state of Pennsylvania bounded and described as follows, viz: Beginning at the intersection of the Northeast line of Sixteenth street with the Northwest line of Twelfth avenue, in a Northeasterly direction forty-four and fifty-four one hundredths (44.54) feet thence at right angles to said line, in a Northwesterly direction one hundred and twenty (120) feet to the Southeast line of an alley, thence with said line of said alley and parallel with Twelfth avenue in a Southwesterly direction fifty-nine and eighty-eight one hundredths (59.88) feet to the intersection of said line with the Northeast line of Sixteenth street; thence with the Northeast line of Sixteenth street in a Southeasterly direction one hundred and twenty and ninety -eight one hundredths (120.98) feet to the place of beginning. Being a part of the same premises which John A. Wright and Emma his wife by their deed dated Oct. 30, 1866 and recorded in Deed Book "T" page 297 etc, sold and conveyed to Adam Bowers, who with Elizabeth his wife by their deed dated March 29, A. D. 1873 and recorded in Deed Book 30 page 237 etc sold and conveyed to Samuel Kuhn (Koon) who by his last will and testament, probated on the 13th day of May A. D. 1886 and recorded in Will Book E page 447 devised certain interests and parts of the same to the parties hereto of the first part and to Samuel A. Kuhn and Jonathan B. Kuhn and the Samuel A. Kuhn and Sarah E. his wife and Jonathan B. Kuhn and Anna M. his wife by their deed dated Feby 19th A. D. 1895 and recorded in Deed Book 109 page 292 etc sold and conveyed their interest thence to Landis A. Kuhn one of the parties hereto of the first part. A draft of the said piece, parcel or lot of ground hereby conveyed is hereto attached showing its metes and bounds etc. Together with all & singular the buildings improvements ways waters, water course, rights, liberties privileges, hereditaments, and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof, and all the estate, right title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part in law, equity or otherwise howsoever, of, in and to the same and every part thereof. To Have and to Hold the said buildings hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And Lavinia Kuhn, Landis Kuhn, Harriet J. Mills and Cornelius C. Mills the said parties of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, executors and administrators, do by these presents covenant, grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that they the said parties of the first part their heirs, all and singular the hereditaments and premises hereinabove described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the said parties of the first part and their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, shall and will warrant and forever defend. McCullough State of Pennsylvania County of Blair ss: On the 17th day of May Anno Domini 1897, before me a Notary Public in and for the City of Altoona came the above named Lavinia Kuhn, Landis Kuhn and ____ his wife and Harriet J. Mills and Cornelius C. Mills her husband and acknowledged the foregoing Indenture to be their act & deed & desired the same might be recorded as such. The said Alice S. Kuhn and Harriet J. Mills being of full age and by me examined separate and apart from their said husbands and the full contents of the foregoing Indenture being first made known to them declared that they did voluntarily and of their own free will and accord sign, seal and as their act and deed, deliver the same without any coercion or compulsion of their said husband [sic].
