All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Allegheny Township Written: October 17, 1868 Recorded: October 17, 1868 Blair County Deed Book V pages 411-413 Michael Mannagh and Jane his wife to Maria Jane Jackson This Indenture made the seventeenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight between Michael Mannagh and Jane his wife of Blair County Pennsylvania of the one part and Maria Jane Jackson of Cambria County Penna of the other part. Witnesseth That the said Michael Mannagh and Jane his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, unto them well and truly paid by the said Maria Jane Jackson at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said Maria Jane Jackson her heirs and assigns all that certain piece parcel or tract of land being and situate in Allegheny Township Blair County Pennsylvania bounded on the East and North by lands of Abraham Myers and others on the West by lands of John Funk, M. Thompson and James Funk and on the South by lands of Gaily and Myers and containing Thirty one acres more or less also that small tract of land in said town and county beginning at a post thence by the town of Henrysburg at 71 degrees E 19.5 perches to a post thence W 38 3/4 degrees E 11 1/2 perches: thence by John B. Simons W 26 degrees W 20 perches to a post thence S 75 degrees W 31 1/2 perches to a post thence by lands of James Funk S 27 1/2 degrees E 21 1/2 perches to a post the place of beginning containing four acres and one perch (4a 1p) neat measure. Being the same piece of land conveyed to the said Charles Gaily by John B. Simmons and Catherine his wife by their deed bearing date the 21st day of December 1858 also all these four lots of ground lying and being in the town of Hollidaysburg in the said township and county and marked and numbered on the plot of said town on Lots no one (1) two (2) three (3) and four (4) fronting sixty (60) feet each on Main Street and running back each one hundred and Eight feet (180) to an alley and which town of Hollidaysburg was laid out by David W. Hilings who owned said land and who conveyed the same interalia to Godwin G. Williams in Trust for the creditors of said D. W. Hilings by his deed of the 21st of November 1850 recorded in Mifflin County in Book "B B" volume second page 575 and which was conveyed by said Goodwin G. Williams trustee & C to the said Charles Gailey, as by reference to Deed Books in the Recorders office of the County of Blair said several deeds will more fully appear also a certain other lot or piece [sic] ground lying and being in the said town of Hilinsburg in said county and state fronting sixty feet on said Main Street and running back one hundred and eighty feet (180) to Cheuy alley and marked and numbered as Lot no 5 in the plot of said town and the Title to which is derived from the said David W. Hilings as set froth above, Together with all and singular the improvements buildings, ways, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof and all the estate, right title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever of Michael Mannagh and Jane his wife in law equity or otherwise howsoever of, in, and to the same and every part thereof, To have and to hold the said pieces parcels or lots of ground hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances to the said Maria Jane Jackson her heirs, and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said Maria Jane her heirs and assigns forever and the said Michael Mannagh and Jane his wife and their heirs, Executors and Administrators do by these presents, covenant, grant and agree to and with the said Maria Jane Jackson and her heirs and assigns that they the said parties of the first part and their heirs all and singular the Hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Maria Jane Jackson her heirs and assigns against them the said parties of the first part their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals. Dated the day and year first above written. Leet Blair County SS On the 17th day of October Anyo [sic] Domini one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight before me a Justice of the Peace in and for said County Michael Mannagh and Jane his wife personally appeared the above named and in due form of law acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed and desired the same might be recorded as such; and the said Jane being of full age separate and apart from her said husband by me thereon privately examined and the full contents of the above Deed being by me first made known unto her did thereupon declare and say that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord sign, seal, and as her act and deed deliver the above written indenture, deed, or conveyance without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband.
