Written: July 12, 1858 Recorded: August 5, 1858 Blair County Deed Book I pages 282-283 Deed John Stiffler and wife to David Shaeffer Know all men by these presents that we John Stiffler & Catherine Stiffler of Madison County & state of Iowa for the consideration of Fifteen hundred dollars in hand paid do hereby sell and convey to David Shaefer his heirs and assigns the following described Real Estate in the state of Pennsylvania Blair County in the Town of Duncansville & Township of Allegheny & more particularly described as follows to wit: Bounded South by the Turnpike leading from Hollidaysburg to Pittsburg West by lands owned - John & Christian Gibson, North by Daniel C. Gibboney's land and East by Francis Wolf's land being about ninety five feet front by one hundred & eighty feet back with all the rights, Title & hereditaments thereunto belonging which said premises has thereon a two story brick House with log back & we hereby warrant the title to the same against the lawful claims of persons whomsoever: which title will more fully appear by reference to two deeds one by Joseph Jones & wife to John Stiffler & the other from Daniel C. Gibboney & wife to said John Stiffler. Attest John Stiffler B. F. Roberts Catherine X (her mark) Stiffler State of Iowa Madison County Personally appeared before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace for said county John Stiffler & Catherine Stiffler his wife & acknowledged the signing & sealing of the foregoing conveyance to be their free act & Deed for the purposes therein expressed this 12th day of July A. Roberts before whom the above acknowledgement was taken is and was at the time of singing the same an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said county and duly authorized by law to take acknowledgements and that his signature to the same is genuine and full faith and credit should be given all his official acts.
