All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ City of Altoona Written: May 13, 1881 Recorded: July 2, 1881 Blair County Deed Book 45, pages 522-523 Abraham Yingling and Wife to Benjamin Lighty Consideration $150.00 This Indenture made the Thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty one between Abraham Yingling and Esther his wife of the City of Altoona County of Blair and State of Pennsylvania of the first part and Benjamin F. Lighty of the City of Altoona, County of Blair and State of Pennsylvania of the second part. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty Dollars unto them in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained, sold, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns. All that certain one half lot or piece of ground lying and being situate in the City of Altoona, County of Blair and State of Pennsylvania and bounded and described as follows, fronting twenty seven feet on the South side of 7th Avenue and running back along the line of John Singer. One hundred and twenty (12) feet to an Alley thence along said Alley Twenty four (w24) feet. Thence North east three (3) feet thence North West in a straight line forty two (42) feet to said 7th Avenue and place of beginning. The said one half lot or piece of ground being part of Lot No 10 in the plan of that part of Loudensville (now City of Altoona) which lays South of the Hollidaysburg Branch Rail Road. The said one half lot or piece of ground being part of a larger tract of land known as the Louden Farm. The title to which by sundry deeds of conveyance became vested in William Louden Decd and being part of the same lot of ground which the heirs and legal representatives of the said William Louden Decd sold and conveyed to Eliza Aikens by deed bearing date the 11th day of July A.D. 1866 and which Eliza Aikens and Samuel Aikens her husband conveyed to William Shutzeberger by deed bearing date the 24th day of May A.D. 1867 and which William Shultzeberger and Catherine his wife conveyed to the present grantor by deed bearing date the 24th day of April A.D. 1871 and recorded in Blair County in Deed Book Vol. 26 page 54 &c reference to said records will more full and at large appear. Together with all and singular the ways, waters, water courses, rights liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof and all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim, and demand whatsoever in law, equity or otherwise, howsoever, of, in, and to the same and every part thereof, To Have and to Hold the said piece or parcel of land with hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be , with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said parties of the first part, their heirs, executors and Administrators, Do hereby covenant, promise, and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his Heirs and assigns, that they the said parties of the first part, their heirs all and singular the premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his Heirs and Assigns, against all the said parties of the first their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Blake State of Pennsylvania County of Blair SS: Before me the subscriber an Alderman in and for the City of Altoona in and for said County personally appeared the said Abraham Yingling and Esther his wife who in due form of law acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed to the end that the same might be recorded as such. And the said Esther being of full age and by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of the foregoing Indenture being first made fully known to her declared that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord seal and as her act and deed, deliver the same without any coercion or compulsion on the part of her said husband.
