Thirty guests were present and a sumptuous repast was served, which was the crowning feature of the evening. Dancing was a very popular form of amusement and a very enjoyable time was spent until a late hour by the merrymakers. The young man was presented with a handsome gold watch by his parents and sisters. He enjoyed the evening immensely, remarking that it was quite different from his 18th birthday last February, which he spent on the firing line in France, ending the day by going to bed in the mud.
