Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Breneman, who are honored residents of the Mountain City and who reside at No. 1517 Fifth avenue, celebrated the golden anniversary of their wedding at their home yesterday evening. They received many handsome as well as useful and valuable presents, and to these were added the heartfelt congratulations and well wishes of the relatives and friends of the worthy couple who were present in goodly number. Mr. and Mrs. Brenaman were married on February 14, 1839, at Williamsburg, now in Blair county, but which, at that time, was in Williamsburg. The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. C. C. Guenther. To Mr. and Mrs. Brenaman were born nine children. Two of these - William and Mary - are dead. The names of the living ones are: A. T. Brenaman, agent for the C. and R. railroad at Cumberland, Md.; J. A. and S. H. Brenaman, of the firm of J. A. Brenaman & Bro., painters, Altoona; John D. Brenaman, Mrs. J. A. Hindman, Mrs. J. E. Hofnagle and Mrs. S. H. Bowers, also of this city. The TRIBUNE wishes Mr. and Mrs. Brenaman many happy returns of the day.
