Stores will be closed on Monday all day. Butcher shops will be open until 9 a.m., owing to the fact that few people have ice and it would be a hard matter to keep meat from Saturday until Monday. The butchers are entitled to a vote of thanks for their accommodation. Miss Bossie Bell, the efficient clerk in P. D. Mulhollem's news stand, had been off duty this week on account of illness. Sugar certificates for canning supplies are signed by Miss Mabel Boyd at her home on Main street, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 to 12 a.m. Persons who can avoid coming at other hours are requested to do so. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Estep and daughter Alma are spending several weeks with friends and relatives at Prospect and Cleveland, O., and Duquesne and Pittsburg. Mrs. John Carroll and sons, Harry and Billy; her sister, Miss Carrie Anderson, of Coalport; Mrs. W. C. Kustaborder, son Leroy and daughter, Miss Viola, spent the day at Lloydville yesterday picnicking. Church Services. The following churches have sent notes of their Sunday services: Methodist Episcopal - Rev. J. F. Anderson, pastor. In the morning a Labor Day sermon; evening theme, "A Guiding Voice." Grace Lutheran - Rev. H. R. Shipe, pastor. Morning subject, "God and Mammon;" evening, "The Ungrateful Nine." Monthly council meeting on Tuesday evening at 8:15. Baptist - Rev. Charles Embrey, pastor. Morning theme, "Christ, the Lifegiver;" evening theme not announced. Church of the Brethren - Rev. D. B. Maddocks, pastor. The usual services on Sunday. United Evangelical - Rev. E. Fulcomer, pastor. Rev. I. E. D. Stover, of Altoona, will preach at 10:30 a.m. and conduct communion service. The pastor will preach in the evening and conduct communion service. Preaching at Pinecroft at 2:30 p.m., by Rev. I. E. D. Stover, of Altoona, who will hold communion services.
