The aged pair did not celebrate their golden wedding in an elaborate manner but spent the day quietly at home receiving their friends, a number of whom came to offer their hearty congratulations, and they also received many messages of this kind by card and letter. Mrs. Crawford has been in ill health for some time but her husband is still in good health for one of his age and goes out daily for a walk and to see his friends. Before Mrs. Crawford became ill they attended church regularly, rain or shine, both being faithful members of the Presbyterian church. Mr. Crawford is aged 83 years and was born in Sinking Valley, residing on a farm there until fifteen years ago, when he retired and he and his wife came to Hollidaysburg to reside. Mrs. Crawford, who is aged 82, was born in Canoe Valley, her maiden name being Nancy J. Dean. They were married on December 29, 1870, at Dixon, Ill., and to them were born four children, all of whom are dead except one, Mrs. Robert Tussey, of Frankstown township. The worthy pair have a host of friends who sincerely hope the end of the trail is still some in the shadowy distance and wish for them continued peace and blessings in their remaining days.
