Luther Wyerman and Emory Wilt, of Pittsburg spent the past few days here visiting at their parental homes. On Thursday Miss Clara Lindsey turned over to the Second Red Cross war fund the money in hand amounting to $39 which was raised by her school room No. 5 of the borough school for the purpose of effecting a Junior Red Cross organization in her room which later developed that the whole school would be required in order to secure the certificate of organization which is to be effected at the beginning of the next school term. Mrs. Annie McKinstry, of Hollidaysburg was a guest at the home of Irvin Focht on Thursday. E. F. McMaster spent Memorial Day visiting friends at Sharon, Pa., and Youngstown, O. G. B. McHolland, now located at Blairsville, was home over Memorial Day. Miss Mary Shoenfelt, of Hollidaysburg, was among the out of town visitors here on Thursday. Mrs. Charles Wise, of Juniata, was a visitor at the residence of A. B. Delozier on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Helsel spent several days this week visiting friends in Girard, O. Charles Harker and Emory Harris, working at Mount Union, were here on Thursday for a visit. The Public Service and Auto company expects soon to inaugurate bus service to Newry, while the schedule has been worked out for this route the delay in beginning the service is occasioned by not receiving the equipment for this line and the cars on the Altoona line requiring extensive repairs, the service could not be maintained until the new car arrives.
