Altoona Tribune, Tuesday morning, August 20, 1918, page 5 FIFTH ANNUAL REUNION Friday Family Picnic at Old Homestead at Vail The fifth annual reunion of the Friday family was held Saturday at the Friday homestead, one mile north of Vail station. Weather, in keeping with the spirits of the family has always favored these annual affairs, but this year, the sky, irregardless of its being Friday's Saturday, dripped incessantly. That is how it happened that the clan assembled in the spacious barn. There, they set up tables, and at noon partook of a sumptuous dinner. Because many of the most active members of the family are in active service in France, the attendance was not as large as that of former years, there being only one hundred present. All expressed hopes of the boys being present for the next reunion. There were no deaths in the family during the past year. Officers of the family association re-elected to serve for the ensuing year are as follows: President, J. H. Friday, Philipsburg; Vice President, W. H. Friday, Bald Eagle; Secretary, J. H. Friday; Treasurer, Samuel Friday, Bald Eagle. The next reunion will be held the Saturday preceding Labor Day, 1919 Altoona Tribune, Tuesday morning, September 3, 1918, page 5
