The Altoona Tribune. (Altoona, Pa.) September 9, 1858
The Superintendent of the Insane Asylum, at Harrisburg, has certified that Joseph
Gates recently sent to that institution by the Court of Quarter Sessions of this
county, is no longer insane, and the Court has ordered his discharge. He is the
individual who attempted to set fire to the jail in Hollidaysburg while incarcerated
therein.
