O'Brien, of Juniata and Walnut streets, are enjoying their annual vacation at Washington, D. C., Philadelphia and Atlantic City. H. A. Bitner, of Pittsburg, was a business visitor in town yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Swope, of Hillcrest, will leave this morning for a vacation trip to Buffalo, N. Y., Pittsburg, Franklin and other points. Mrs. William M. Hoover and son, William, jr., of Washington, D. C., who have been the guests of Mrs. Hoover's mother, Mrs. Frank H. Fay, of Allegheny street, for six weeks, have gone for a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cortes Snyder of Snow Shoe. Miss Gertrude McFadden, stenographer of the McLanahan-Stone machine works at Gaysport, has returned from a two weeks' vacation spent with relative in Pittsburg and North Jackson, O. Mrs. Frank Sholley and son, Master Henry, of New York, are visiting at the home of Mrs. Sholley's sister, Miss Laura Baldrige, of Allegheny street. Mr. and Mrs. James P. Alexander, of New Haven, Conn., are visiting Mr. Alexander's mother, Mrs. M. R. Alexander, of Allegheny street. Mr. and Mrs. Ward McLanahan and two sons, Craig and Calvin, of Martinsburg, W. Va., are the guests of Mr. McLanahan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Calvin McLanahan, of East Walnut street. Mr. and Mrs. Jones, of Altoona, who have been residing at Highland hall during the summer, have taken possession of the apartments in the Humes building on West Allegheny street. Mr. Jones holds an important electrical position at Altoona. Eugene McKelvey, of the McKelvey Lumber company, and family, who have been at Highland hall during the summer, have returned to their former apartments at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Walters, of Union street.
