McGinnis, of East Main street has received the following letter from her son, Roy, who has been in France for several months. Dear Mother and All: As this is Sunday night and I haven't much to do, will try and write you a few lines. The pictures enclosed are of me and a little orphan boy, about four years of age, who is in the hospital. His father and mother were both killed. The child is with us most of the time. The hospital is some good place to work, no hard work, but we sure do get to see a lot of things, and we have all kinds of patients here. I have about one hundred patients in my ward, so have to look after them all myself when I am on duty at night, but, of course, some of them are no bother. Well, I am still getting lots to eat here at the hospital, so I hope Dummy Myers and the other boys from town are as lucky as I was to get some place where they get lots to eat. Well, as I do not know what else to write at the present, hope when this reaches you that you are all well and do not worry for I am feeling just as good as I was when I left. With [sic] close with love to all. Roy. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday morning, August 20, 1918, page 3
