The Altoona Tribune. (Altoona, Pa.), August 08, 1861 August 8, 1861
Military - We understand that a number of military companies are about being formed
in this county for active service, for three years or during the war. Capt. Henry
Wayne, Lieut. S. C. Potts, John M. Clark, Richard Crosier and J. W. Hicks, are all
recruiting companies, and as they are all “bully” fellows, we presume they will soon
be ready for the field again. This mountainous region produces military men.
