Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Miller. The golden wedding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Miller took place last evening at their home on East Eleventh street, and one of the golden features of the occasion was that the celebration was a complete surprise to the venerable couple. It was planned by their children and the arrangements were so successfully kept under cover that the honored parents were taken entirely unaware. The celebration was an occasion of great rejoicing and was pleasant in every particular. It was a family reunion, and in the program was one of the very best suppers that ever faced the worth host and hostess during their long married life. J. J. Miller and Miss Fannie Little were married at McAlevy's Fort March 6, 1850, just fifty years ago. They have resided in Tyrone for the past thirty years and are numbered among our most esteemed residents. Age sits lightly upon them and in spirit they are as young a couple as ever saw a half century of wedded life go by. They are the parents of six children, the grandparents of sixteen and the great-grandparents of two. Mrs. John Miller, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. D. R. Cadwallader, of Harrisburg, their daughters, were here for the celebration. The other two daughters, Mrs. George Fritz and Mrs. T. S. McIntyre, and the sons, William A. and S. Woods Miller, reside in Tyrone. Tyrone Daily Herald, Wednesday, March 7, 1900
