Y. J. R. Kauffman, of 511 Fifth street, spent Sunday with Newton Hamilton friends. Mrs. William Allenbaugh, of Pittsburg, was a week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Long, of 613 Fifth avenue. Mrs. J. T. Malligan, of the Hotel Savoy, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Betty, left yesterday morning for Greensburg, where Miss Malligan will enter Seaton Hill academy. Mrs. J. F. Thompson, of 1224 Fifth avenue, recently entertained her brother, J. D. Grimes, of the U. S. cruiser Seattle. Mr. Grimes was en route to his home in Dean, on a seven day furlough. Thomas Hefferman, of 602 Second avenue, left Saturday night for Philadelphia, where he joined the naval reserves, having been called. Mrs. J. F. Thompson, of Woodland, and Mrs. William Baig and son Joseph, of Clearfield, are visiting Juniata friends. Mrs. Edward Seiber, of Scranton, has been called home by the serious illness of her father, Civil War Veteran J. L. North, of 411 Sixth avenue. Mrs. D. F. David, of 523 Fourth avenue, leaves today for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Walter Werner, of Pittsburg. Mrs. H. H. Dushane, of 426 Seventh avenue, and Miss Pearl Werner, of 422 Seventh avenue, are spending a few day in Philadelphia. Miss Mabel Findlay, of Youngwood, returned home on Sunday after spending several days with Miss Margaret Black, of 703 Fifth avenue. Mrs. J. C. Bingman, of 513 Eleventh avenue, has been called to Burlington, N. J. by the death of a relative. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Gentzel and two sons, of 209 Tenth avenue, and Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Boyles, of 502 Sixth street, are visiting in Centre county. Miss Blanche Duvall, of 524 Tenth avenue, has returned from Atlantic City, where she spent the summer. Mrs. Max Fox, of Cleveland, O., has returned home after an extended visit with Juniata friends. Mrs. Fox aw accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Goodman, of 621 Sixth avenue. Mrs. I. V. Barrick, of 517 Seventh avenue, is in Spruce Creek today, attending the funeral of her uncle, the late D. B. Henderson. Mrs. E. M. Gomer, of 411 Sixth street, is visiting relatives in Meyersdale, W. Va. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Banks, of 911 Second street, have returned from a week- end visit with their daughter, Mrs. W. E. Hiner, of Philadelphia. Miss Marguerite Palmer, of Tyrone, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Myers, of 523 Fifth avenue. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Null, of 519 Seventh avenue, have returned from Sykesville, where they were called by the death of their niece.
