Charles Frederick Sanders, a former well known shopman and boxer, in a letter to his mother, Mrs. Jennie Sanders, of 1110 1-2 Sixteenth street, tells of some of his experiences Over There. "Red" as he is more familiarly known, says that he likes the service and the country. He is in the aero service and says that while his company was passing through the country a stop was made in a town where he encountered a number of Altoona boys. He also said that he boxed for them that night, meeting Frankie Burns from California. He speaks of seeing windmills in operation and of people wearing wooden shoes.
