All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ STIFFLER FAMILY MEETS IN REUNION Officers were reelected and a program of addresses and sports featured at the annual reunion of the Stiffler clan, held at Dell Delight park, Hollidaysburg, on Saturday. The crowd was the largest in recent years, members of the family being present from New York, Pittsburgh, Clairton, Clearfield, Conemaugh, Derry, South Fork, Morrellville, Osterburg and other towns. A big dinner was served, after which a program of addresses was rendered. W. H. Stiffler presided. Elder Joseph Wilt of Juniata conducted the devotions. D. Elmer Sell of Altoona welcomed the members of the Stiffler family and gave a history of the clan. The family descended from Jacob Stiffler, a native of Germany, settling in McKee's Gap. G. R. Stiffler spoke in behalf of the absent ones and the names of the members who died during the year were read. J. C. Sell spoke of the Stifflers in politics. Mrs. G. R. Stiffler spoke of the war record of the family. W. H. Stiffler of Hollidaysburg and J. Roy Stiffler of Conemaugh spoke of the family as merchants, and James A. Sell handled the subject of Stifflers from the "cook" standpoint. Officers were reelected as follows: President, W. H. Stiffler; secretary, Olive T. Stiffler, and treasurer, A. L. Stiffler.
