Nealmont, the new suburb of our town, is well under way. Streets are being graded and that is somewhat unusual in the propagation of a new town. The sewage question is receiving proper care and attention, and the streets are being put in a condition that will make them passable. Our present town council might obtain a lesson if they will visit the improvement under way and keep their eyelashes on the ascendant scale a sufficient time to permit their optics to observe what is passing. Some fifteen handsome residences have been contracted for and are now under way. No grander and handsomer location could have been selected amongst the wild, extravagant foothills of the Appalachian chain. Facing southeast they command the scenery of a wide stretch of farming country and mountains beyond, a picture of nature which art cannot fathom in her futile attempts to equal. Mr. J. J. Glass, of your city, has the contract for erecting the dwellings. They will average about $1,100 each and be supplied with all modern convenience. John Smith is stone mason and Con Sullivan furnisher of supplies. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, October 27, 1890
