All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ ALLEN FREDERICK ADAMS Allen Frederick Adams, a well known resident of Hollidaysburg, died yesterday afternoon at 3.55 o'clock at his home on North Montgomery street, of pneumonia, resultant from an attack of Spanish influenza. He had been ill for a week. Mr. Adams was a son of James W. and Sara Adams, both deceased, and was born at Duncansville on March 17, 1881. He resided most of his lifetime at Roaring Spring and came to Hollidaysburg to reside last spring, being employed as a boilermaker at the Twelfth street shops of the P.R.R. at Altoona. Deceased was a steady hardworking man, who paid the closest attention to his family, and was highly esteemed for his many fine qualities. He was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by the following children: Leonard McCreary of the United States army service, located at Camp Hill, Newport News, Va.; James and Henry, twins aged four years; Clara, Paul and Pauline, twins, at home. These brothers and sisters survive: J. B. Adams of Duncansville, Franklin of Roaring Spring, Mrs. C. L. Read and Mrs. David Diehl of Altoona, Mrs. E. C. Konkle of Juniata Gap and Mrs. O. R. Stiffler of Rochester, Pa. He was a member of the P.R.R. relief and Boilermaker's Union. The funeral services will be held at his late home on Friday morning at 9 o'clock to be conducted by Rev. E. E. Harter of the Methodist church. Interment will be made at Greenlawn cemetery at Roaring Spring. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, October 24, 1918
