Baltimore: Gateway Press, Inc., 1987 Georgie Louise Allen, 86, a Colorado native, passed away at her daughter's home on February 17, 2005. Georgie was born in Colorado Springs to Miles Blaine and Minnie Axelena (Hagwell) Kratzer on January 24, 1919, and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1936. She married Ernest A. Allen on February 14, 1942 at First Lutheran Church. Georgie was an accomplished genealogist and charter member of Pikes Peak Genealogical Society, worked at Penrose Public Library in the local history department. She authored a book on genealogical history of her family, and was a member of the Zebulon Pick Chapter, NSDAR. Georgie loved to sing and play the piano and had been a member of the Sweet Adelines. She loved knitting and needlepoint, and was an avid reader. Three daughters survive Georgie: Susan Luksic (John), Jeannette Annala (Bob) of Colorado Springs, and Patricia Sorrell (Tom) of O'Fallon, IL. Additionally, seven grandchildren: Laura Bimm (Bob), Lisa Bruntz (Dan), Elizabeth Annala, and Mark, Jonathan, William and Andrew Sorrell; five great-grandchildren: Katherine and Alexandra Bimm; and Andrew, Nathan and Nicolas Bruntz; her brother Malcolm Kratzer (Lydia) of Mesa AZ; cousins; Maxine Trapp of Colorado Springs, Conley Holcomb of Aurora, CO and Ron Holcomb (Rose) of Albuquerque, NM; numerous nieces and nephews, including Karla Davis (Jim) of Durango, CO. Preceding Georgie in death were her husband, Ernie; brother, Bill Kratzer; sister-in-law, Billie Kratzer; and grandson, Robert Nicolas Annala. Georgie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1515 N. Cascade Avenue., Colorado Springs, CO. A reception will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Memorial Fund at First Lutheran Church in Georgie Allen's name or the Pikes Peak Hospice, 825, E.
