He was born Aug. 20, 1871, in Germany, the son of George and Anna Altmanshofer. He belonged to St. Michael's Catholic Church, Knights of St. George, the Bavarian society and the Mutual Benefit association, and had been a resident of Hollidaysburg for the past 45 years. Surviving are his wife, Perpetua (Seiglhofer) Altmanshofer; three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Mary McGraw of Altoona, Mrs. Betty Soldner of Toledo, Joseph, George, Mrs. William Himes and Louis, all of Hollidaysburg, 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Seven children preceded him in death. He had been employed in the Pennsylvania railroad shops for 42 years, having retired in 1936. Friends are being received at the Read funeral home, Hollidaysburg.
