All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Anthony Joseph "Tony" Amato Anthony Joseph "Tony" Amato, 92, Golden Living Center-Hillview, Altoona died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. He was born Jan. 14, 1916 in Huntingdon, son of Angelo and Maria (Raia) Amato. He married Vera Brown. She preceded him in death after 62 years of marriage. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Fedeli and husband, Frank, of Tyrone; a son, Anthony Angelo Amato of Arlington, Va.; two grandsons: Shane Fedeli and wife, Kelly, of Hershey and Marcus Fedeli of Arlington, Va.; a granddaughter, Nicole Fedeli-Turiano and husband, Mark, of Hollidaysburg; two great-granddaughters: Mariah and Celena Turiano; two sisters-in-law: Leone Amato of Altoona and Doris Hann of Roxburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Joseph, Ralph, Frank and Albert; and two sisters: Angeline Amato and Dollie Biasone. Mr. Amato retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad. He enjoyed vegetable gardening. He was an avid camper, along with his wife, in their mobile home. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Santella Funeral Home, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Committal at Calvary Mausoleum. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., February 6, 2008
