Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com February 14, 2012, 3:25 pm Altoona Mirror, August 26, 1988 Mrs. Amick, 82, of 100 E. 4th Ave., died unexpectedly at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 1988, at Altoona Hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1906, in Altoona, the daughter of John and Olive (Kerlin) Dore, and married Rush L. Amick, who died in August 1969. Surviving are a son, John E., with whom she resided, and a granddaughter. Also surviving are three sisters: Violet Wininger and Ethel Mallory of Altoona, and Mildred of Duncansville. Mrs. Amick was a member of the East End United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata. AMICK - Services for Helen I. Amick of 100 E. 4th Ave., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, by the Rev. Philip Sabas. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
