He had been in ill health the past year. Mr. Amick was born in Bedford county Jan. 17, 1887, a son of Wilson and Mary (Shaffer) Amick. He was a member of the Fifty-eighth Street Methodist church, of the Men's Bible class and the Kittanning Trail Volunteer Fire company. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Stella (Hanks) Amick; six children, Mrs. Hazel Hostler and Mrs. Virginia Horner of Altoona, Miss Alma and Mrs. Irma Mowry of Huntingdon, W.Va., Mrs. Margie Osborne of Mt. Airy, Md., and Mrs. Jean Patterson of Altoona; eight grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters, Ira of Orlando, Fla., Marshall of Cumberland, Md., Rush and Mrs. Lillian Yon of Altoona and Miss Grace of Willow Grove. A daughter, Mrs. Vera Toms, died in July, 1953. Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
