Mr. Anderson was born in Gardsas, Sweden, Oct. 16, 1876, the son of Andrew and Edla (Benson) Anderson. His wife, Anna Christine (Lawson) Anderson, died Dec. 3, 1943. Mr. Anderson was a retired melter in the South Altoona foundry of the Pennsylvania railroad, retiring May 1, 1935, after 46 years' service. Surviving are three daughters and one son, Mrs. Selma Nicodemus of Altoona; Anna, Ellen and C. Arthur Anderson, all at home; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Ernest S. Anderson of Altoona and Anna Bertha of Sweden. He was a member of the First Lutheran church, Monitor lodge of the S.F. of A. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, Saturday, April 22, 1950
