ANTHONY, 56, of 1111 17th Avenue, Altoona, PA, formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at Altoona Hospital. He was born February 28, 1948 in Tyrone, PA to the late Ballard J. Anthony and Bertha M. (Smith) Anthony, who survives. He was a self-employed dry wall installer and was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1966. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing sports, playing solitaire and reading the bible. In Harrisburg, Mr. Anthony attended Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ under Elder Henry Williams, then Elder Doc R. Gilmore. In Altoona, Mr. Anthony attended Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ under Bishop Benjamin J. Ravenel. Surviving are his sisters, Eunice Thomas of CA, Fran Mason, Marie Lansanah, Yevette Cooksey, Vanessa Lynch and Vanteria Anthony, all of Harrisburg, PA; brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a host of cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Terry. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Stevens Memorial Chapel, 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.
