ARMSTRONG Of 126 Howard avenue, died at his home at 9.45 o'clock last night after several months' illness. He was born near Everett, Bedford county, on Sept. 9, 1880, a son of John and Susan (Miller) Armstrong, and had been employed for the past forty years in the tank shop of the Altoona works, Pennsylvania Railroad company. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Irene (Evans) Armstrong; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Donald Hoover of Williamsburg, John and Richard of the city; three grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers: Sara J. Ferris of Webb City, Mo., Mrs. Elizabeth Metzgar of the city, Dan Armstrong of San Diego Calif., and James E. Armstrong of Johnstown. He was of the Lutheran faith. Friends will be received at the Axe funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. ARMSTRONG - Funeral services for Lewis M. Armstrong of 126 Howard avenue will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Axe funeral home in charge of Rev. Luke H. Rhoads. Interment in Fairview cemetery.
