All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ FALL FROM AUTO CAUSE OF DEATH Frank Farel Armsparger [sic], aged 58, a Pennsylvania railroad freight brakeman, residing at 129 East Fourth avenue, died at 7.55 o'clock last evening at the Altoona hospital from a fracture of the skull suffered Monday noon when he fell from an automobile at an East End services station. Arnsparger's condition had been critical from the time of his admission to the hospital. He fell a distance of approximately six feet when he stepped from a machine after it had been elevated on a hydraulic hoist at the Reddick service station at Sixth avenue and Kettle street. Coroner C. C. Rothrock, notified of the man's death, planned to investigate further today the circumstances in the case. Arnsparger died, four months to the day, after his elder brother, John W. Arnsparger, late of 612 Crawford avenue. The latter died Sept. 14, last. The car from which the victim fell was reported to police to have been owned by Ernest Mauch of 527 Crawford avenue who said that he had requested Arnsparger to step from the machine before it had been elevated. The deceased was born in this city Jan. 21, 1880, a son of John W. and Ulia (Aikens) Arnsparger. He was married here in 1908 to Edith Crownover who died some sixteen years ago. Surviving are his father, and these children: Mrs. Thelma King, Mrs. Helen Knisely, Carl and Ralph Arnsparger, all of the city; also a sister, Mrs. Nellie Orr of Altoona, and two brothers, Fred of Altoona and Benjamin of Sandwich, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Arnsparger was employed by the Pennsy as a yard brakeman. He was a member of the Third Presbyterian church and of the P.R.R. Relief. ARNSPARGER - Funeral services for Frank F. Arnsparger of 129 E. 4th Ave. will be held at 2.30 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Stevens Memorial chapel. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Stevens mortuary.
