MRS. CLARA JANE ARTHUR       
 
  Mrs. Clara Jane Arthur, wife of Harry A. Arthur, 717 Ninth street, 
Altoona, died at her home Tuesday evening after a short illness.  
  She was born November 11, 1882, a daughter of Edwin and Hannah 
(Gordon) Ritter.  Her husband and a son, Melvin, of Lakemont, a 
daughter, Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Shorb, Miami, Fla.; and a grandchild 
survive with a sister and brother, Mrs. Sara Neiman, Lewistown and 
Robert Ritter, Tyrone. 
  She was a former resident of Lakemont, and a member of Lakemont 
Church of God.  The body may be viewed at the Gilden funeral home where 
service will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.  Burial will 
follow in Rose Hill cemetery.
