ARTHURS Died at the home of a son, Ralph Arthurs, 3164 Walnut Avenue, at 2:10 o'clock this morning after having been ill for the past eighteen months. Mr. Arthurs was a retired janitor of the Logan township school district, having served at the Webster school for many years. He was born September 21, 1857 in Centre county. a son of Christopher and Rebecca (Tipton) Arthurs. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Arthurs, died four years ago. Surviving are eight sons and three daughters, Charles, Harry, George D., J.B.,Crist, John, Ralph and Raymond Arthurs, Mrs. Homer Merritts, Mrs. Turner Dollar and Mrs. Edward Steckroth, all of the city; thirty -seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Cecil B. Arthurs of the city and Mrs. Arilla Duncan of Hollidaysburg. The body may be viewed after noon tomorrow at the Ralph Arthurs home, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Altoona Mirror, August 14, 1936
