AULTS, Arthur, 1959 AULTS, Emma (Waite), 1928 AULTS, Mary Bell (Louden), 1947 AULTS, Samuel M., 1894 AULTS, Walter J., 1931 Arthur "Scoop" AULTS Altoona Mirror April 13, 1959 Of 1053 Pennsylvania Ave., Tyrone, died at 9.10 p. m. Saturday after a brief illness. He was born at Tipton Oct 8, 1884, a son of Arthur and Emma(Waite) Aults, and was twice married. His first wife, Mary Lauden (Louden), died in 1947 and on May 24, 1948, at Tyrone, he married Mrs. Eva Bryan. Surviving are his wife, five step-children, Earl and James Bryan, Mrs. Robert Schaul and Mrs. Gerald Wallace of Grazierville and Bruce of Altoona. He was a member of Columbia Avenue Methodist Church, the Odd Fellows and Blazing Arrow Fire Company. Mr. Aults retired as a car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1951 after 49 years of employment. Friends are being received at the Johnson Funeral Home, Tyrone. ________ Mrs. Emma AULTS Altoona Tribune Thursday, November 1, 1928 page 14 Mrs. Emma Aults, widow of Arthur Aults, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Funk, 728 West 15th St., Tyrone, yesterday morning at 1:45. Mrs. Aults had been ill for 2 years with complications and recently contracted a heavy cold that developed into pneumonia. Mrs. Aults was a daughter of John and Mary Burley Waite and was born near Tyrone, February 6, 1854. On February 27, 1873, she was united in marriage to Arthur Aults, who died in 1886. Surviving her death are these sons and daughter: Ira Aults, Arthur Aults, Jr., and Mrs. John Funk, Tyrone; Walter Aults, Pittsburgh; also these two brothers, Jesse Waite, Tyrone, and Ira Waite, Clearfield. Mrs. Aults was a member of the Lutheran church and when in good health took an active interest in church and civic work. Interment in Grandview Cemetery. ________ Mrs. Mary Bell AULTS Altoona Mirror November 23, 1947 Died yesterday morning at 7.55 o'clock at her home at 434 West Sixteenth street, Tyrone. She was born Sept. 12, 1881, at Royer, a daughter of James A. and Gloria (Wertz) Loudon and was married July 17, 1909, at Tyrone to Arthur B. Aults. Surviving are her husband and the following sisters and brothers: Miss Ruth Elizabeth Loudon of Tyrone, Mrs. Elva (Elda) Calderwood and Mrs. Raymond Wogan of Altoona, Mrs. Melvin Allison of Williamsburg, M. Wilmore Loudon of Tyrone, Philip A. of Altoona, and Lemont A. of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Columbia Avenue Methodist church. _____ Samuel M. AULTS 6 June 1894 Samuel M. Aultz A former resident of Tyrone and one of the best known citizens of Blair county, died at 10 o'clock on Tuesday morning at his farm near Tipton. Mr. Aultz had been ailing for more than a year with dropsy. He was born in Mifflin county June 30, 1820. Some thirty years ago, with his family, he moved from Mount Union to Hollidaysburg, where he engaged in the hotel business until his property was burned by fire, when he went to Tyrone in 1865 and bought the City hotel. He conducted this hostelry until 1872, when he sold it to Mrs. Mary Weston, and became a coal dealer. He remained a resident of Tyrone until 1877, when he removed to his farm near Tipton, where he has since resided. In 1842 he married Miss Elizabeth Brown, who died on July 20 last. Ten children were born to them, only three of whom are left to mourn the loss of their kind and loving father. These are James F. and Samuel Aultz of Tipton and Mrs. M. D. Stover of McMacheen, W. Va. Deceased was a member of the Tipton Presbyterian church. Rev. J. H. Mathers of Bellwood, will conduct the funeral services at the late home of the deceased at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment in Tyrone cemetery. _____ Walter J. AULTS 26 January 1931 Walter J. Aults A former resident of Tyrone but located in Pittsburgh for the past seven years, died at the Homewood hospital on Friday after a long illness. He was a son of Arthur and Emma (Waite) Aults, and was born at Tyrone 52 years ago. His wife, Mrs. Mary (Williams) Aults, died in 1920. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Clayton Linglebaugh, Misses Eleanor and Ruth Aults, of Homewood, Mrs. Helen Tauber of Turtle Creek and Mrs. Hazel Smith of Detroit; two brothers and one sister, Ira W. and Arthur Aults and Mrs. John Funk of Tyrone. Funeral services were held yesterday at Pittsburgh.
