AYERS Miss Ayers, 81, of 305 Cherry St., Roaring Spring, died at 4:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 1983, at her home, following an extended illness. Miss Ayers retired as a bookkeeper from the Rose Hill Cemetery in 1967 after 40 years' service. She was born Nov. 30, 1901, in Roaring Spring, a daughter of William and Myrtle (Brown) Ayers. Surviving are a sister, Lena F. Ayers, with whom she resided; a brother, W. Glenn of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Roaring Spring, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the church's Ramblers Circle, the Lutheran Church Women organization and the Gettysburg College League. She was a contributing member of the Blair County Historical Society. She was a member of the Roaring Spring Auxiliary Post of the American Legion, and she was a charter member of the Roaring Spring Business and Professional Women. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. AYERS - Services for Thelma L. Ayers of 305 Cherry St., Roaring Spring, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Roaring Spring, by the Rev. Nicholas Martin. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
