All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ GARWOOD BACON Of 723 East Crawford avenue, died at 2.40 o'clock this morning at the Altoona hospital following an illness of nine weeks during which he suffered from an acute blood condition. He was born in Crawford county, near Lincolnsville, Pa., Jan. 20, 1896, the son of Orlando (deceased) and Creola Bacon. He was a veteran of the World war and served overseas for a year with the Rainbow division. He is survived by the mother, Mrs. Creola Bacon Steadman of Spartansburg, Warren county, Pa., his wife, Mrs. Bessie Manspeaker Bacon, to whom he was married one year ago, Aug. 20 last, two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Bedow of Union City, Pa., Mrs. Clarence Drayer of Kannore, O., one brother, Jefferson Bacon, and a half-brother, Albert Steadman, both of Spartansburg. He was a member of the United Brethren church and was engaged in this city as a drayman and truck driver. The remains will be taken from this city on Sunday for Rays Cove, Bedford county, where services will be held during the afternoon in the Christian church.
