Bailey, aged 34 years, was struck by mail express about 7 o'clock Monday evening, and instantly killed, while walking on the railroad track on a sharp curve, just west of No. 7 bridge at Shoenberger. He and his wife were picking coal from the track and they did not hear the rapidly approaching train. The man's body struck his wife's as he was hurled from the track, but she was not hurt. His body was thrown about sixty feet. Mr. Bailey was an employe of the Keystone lime and limestone company. He resided near the quarries. Surviving are a wife and four small children. The remains were interred at Birmingham yesterday afternoon. Altoona Mirror, Wednesday, September 13, 1899
