Our Frankstown correspondent writes: Mrs. Sarah, wife of Jonathan Baird, died at her home near Mentzer's mill, Monday evening, January 19, aged 83 years. The funeral took place on Wednesday, January 21, the interment being in the Lutheran cemetery near Yellow Springs. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, January 22, 1891 FRANKSTOWN FACTS. Another good woman gone to meet her dear ones who long ago passed over the river of Death. Mrs. Sarah, the wife of Jonathan Baird, died on January 19 at the home of her son-in-law, Isaac Burns, near Mentzer's Mill, aged 83 years, 3 months and 1 day, she having been born on October 18, 1807, near Alexandria, Huntingdon county. Her maiden name was Isett, and when only 14 years old she was married to Mr. George Ritz, who died many years ago. By this union she became the mother of six children, all of whom are living but one - Sarah, wife of Isaac Burns; Alexander, Jane E., wife of Jacob McClelland; all of Frankstown township; Lucy Ann, deceased, wife of George Burns; Joseph, of Herndon, Virginia, and Sophia, wife of David Clark, of Hollidaysburg. From her last marriage she was the grandmother of forty-one children and great-grandmother of twenty-two children. She lived a consistent Christian life and died in the faith of her Savior, who she loved and obeyed. She was a member of the Lutheran church and was interred in the Lutheran cemetery near Yellow Springs on January 21. Services were held at her late residence by Rev. Isaac Kreider, of Duncansville.
