BAKER Mrs. Baker, 98, formerly of Eleventh Street Tower, died at 1:35 a.m. today, Feb. 24, 1992, at Valley View Home, following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 21, 1893, in Altoona, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hannigan) Carles. She married Harry Eugene Baker on Nov. 16, 1916, in Cumberland, Md. He died Feb. 9, 1974. Surviving are two daughters: Virginia Sackett of Conneaut, Ohio, and Mary Margaret Ferguson of Altoona; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baker was the oldest member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ever Ready Sunday School class. She was also a member of Daughters of America, where she was past state counselor. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home. BAKER - Services for Edna E. Baker, formerly of Eleventh Street Tower, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home, by the Rev. Douglas M. Compton. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Baker in 1982.
