Joseph Balsley, the well known stockman, prominent in horse and cattle circles the country over, died in Harrisburg on Saturday. Mr. Balsley was particularly interested in Troop B and was the guest of several of its members several years ago when they staged the home talent carnival. He was the double of the late Colonel William F. Cody and during his later years derived no little amusement over the similarity in stature, figure and face. Incidentally they were fast friends. Joseph Balsley died at the age of 71 years of general breakdown. He was a cousin of Mrs. M. F. Brownlee, of Washington avenue, and the last of her kin. Mrs. Brownlee left yesterday for Mechanicsburg, where interment will be made. Mr. Balsley was perhaps the best known horseman in Cumberland valley and spent his early life on the plains.
